Hummie's World - Course 2, Lesson 80 - Magnifying Glass

LOVED playing with this - thanks for the d/l Hummie! - but had to get just the right photo :) I also found it important to select just the right bit of the photo to spherise...it showed the effect more if I could see the wooden post's changed shape as well as the bird!
And...YAY! This was the last lesson in Course 2 (to date anyway!!) - what an achievement!! *pats self on back* :)

Hummie's World - Filter Challenge - Lesson 20 - Ocean Ripple

Loved the effect of this filter...esp. on the bird! It has 3 layers, top 2 I changed the blending mode to exclusion...LOVE the effect (looks better large!)

Hummie's World, Course 2, Lesson 70

Once I decided I liked the pattern of the Ying/Yang cut in half, I wanted to keep the b&w (ish!) theme, with all the focus on the photo with that gorgeous blue shy!

Bit of symbolism going on here, LOL, must be the influence of the Art Journal Caravan, LOL! The bird flying high, the title, there is wire on the shapes to symbolise being caged in, and the bird is enlarged outside of the frame to symbolise breaking free Living life with relish! The clocks remind us that time marches on and waits for no one...sometimes we need reminding to make the most of life! I def do, LOL!!

Think this could go on a canvas on my wall actually, for my bedroom...wouldn't be a bad thing to wake up to every day

The Sunday Creative - Orient

This word prompt threw me completely, as I'm really not into the oriental type kits, LOL, but then I started to think of it as a verb, and that helped a LOT!!!! Found this lovely quote, so went with that. This is one of my photos from today. We went to a new-to-us beach about 45 mins away, and I took hundreds of photos! This was a tiny part of one pic, but thanks to my lovely new SLR, I was able to take a little piece of photo and blow it up to make a whole page! I then played with some yummy textures from Kim Klassen (to which I am totally addicted now, LOL!) and had a good old play. Kim also put up a videocast for us today, which was inspirational! So I played some new ways too, and this is what i came up with! (have to say, have you tried the watercolour filter in PSE?! It's fantastic and makes a really really good representation of watercolour!!). Think I shall have to go back to a normal photo-page next week, or the balance of the book will be off!! Just for a little while, LOL!!
