OKC LO for TMA Designs @ Faith Sisters using Be An Arteest kit

Just LOOK at the gorgeous colours in this kit! You can grab it HERE! I responded to a OKC at DST and made this LO! I LURVED working with such a bright kit and even had a bit of a play with the photo to bring out the bright burnt orange colour of the guitar! The quality of the elements and papers in the kit is very high. I was esp. impressed with elements that involved folded paper or card, or torn edges. I'd like to thank Lynn for the opportunity of working with her kit, and I shall def try to visit Faith Sisters forum more often!

CT LO for SIS CT Contest using April the Scrapaholic's Celebration Collab. kit

Here's my offering for the CT Contest this month! I had great fun playing around with the elements in this kit! First I enlarged the b/g paper a LOT, to bring out the beautiful texture in it! Then I used the flame element to form a border, and clipped the edge of the brown paper to it (the edges are darker). Then I used one of the candles to clip more brown paper to, to create the wavy paper mats behind the photo. I also clipped the number 2 element to the candle as well to make the lighter brown, 2-tone strip of paper. I beheaded the balloons to have the string! I clipped the creamy coloured flower to the hearts element, and finally, I extracted the creamy stripes from a candle and used them to make the twisted string! Just a stroke of an enlarged flower element made a background detail to take off the plainness of the b/g! Phew! Think that's everything!!
Although I hate having my photo taken, thi sone that Evie took was too good not to get on a page for her!!!

CT LOs for SIS using Thanksgiving Feastivities by Nik's Scripts and Scraps

Being in the UK, a Thanksgiving kit would not usually be my first choice, LOL, but I'm g;ad to have worked with this one! The colours are lovely and will be perfect for Autumn LOs, and there are some gorgeous elements in there! In the first LO, I put a piece of paper behind the flowered frame in the kit, merged them and used that as a mask for the photo! I like the unique shape! The second page was inspired by an advert, and I love the clean lines and simplicity of it!
So! Grab yourself a nifty little kit HERE! It's on sale at the moment too!!

UKScrappers February House Challenge LO

This LO has quite surprised me...it's a real labour of love, LOL! The challenge was to scrap something that rekindles your inner soul or something you love. I din't want to go down the obvious route of photos of the kids or DH, LOL, and so I ended up with tiny flashes of ideas running around in my head for hours this afternoon and evening! Once Evie was in bed, I sat on the pooter for a while, and started looking at some of the digi kits for sale for Haiti. It really amazed me how many are out there, and all the work that's gone into them, as most seem to be collabs. (that I've seen). Then I saw one masive collab kit that had the work of 56 designers inside. Just imagine! 56 people all submitting work and someone having to colate it all, out it in some kind of order! All the link checking and preview-making. And that's without the origianl art work of the designers!!!! Suddenly the tiny flashes formed into one BIG flash of inspiration!!!

I used 2 kits from Secret Garden Creations - Brighten Up and Redefined - which I purchased at Clean Line Graphics (where there also happens to be a sale on, so get over there FAST and pick up these gorgeous kits!!!!)

The photo is from amcatholic.files.wordpress.com.

I didn't want to use one of the photos available of individuals being pulled from rubble, so went for a more general photo that seemed to sum up what I was trying to say. Various people there, all pulling together to help fellow humans who were suffering. The few that are in the pic represent the whole world's peoples doing whatever we are able to help.

The quote I found seemed so appropriate and so true in this situation, I had to use it!

I used larger, 'spiky' stitching to illustrate the harshness of the situation; the little metal cube with a heart to show the love from round the world; and the little butterfly for hope.

Off to bed now! Thank goodness I managed to get this down on 'paper', as it was starting to annoy me those little flashes of ideas that won't stop until you've made something!!!

Nite!
