ARt Journal Caravan - Page 12 - Fight

Wanted to get back to normal in the journal today, so went with fighting time rather than anything (or anyone, LOL!!) else!

I always seem to be scrabbling to find enough time for what I want to do...it passes too quickly!

So we have the words 'fighting time' in her head; the arty hands captured in the cage, unable to produce as much as they'd like! The clocks in the b/g with the fence in front of it - more barriers! The ominous black bird and the days of the week that keep passing and won't hold up and wait for me to catch up with my arty projects, LOL!!!! Finally there's my trusty camel, with his little bit of colour to lead me through all the 'stuff' that gets in the way and takes my time away from creating :)

I LOVED this quote and couldn't wait to use it!!

Art Journal Caravan - Page 11 - Belong

No quote on this page, these are all my own words, LOL! The probs I'm having atm IRL involve someone trying to control what I can and can't say in a certain situation (regarding my DD2's school), and I'm not standing for it, LOL!!! I'm feeling strong and absolutely love this page, despite it coming out a bit dark and brooding, LOL, because it looks strong, feels strong and says what am thinking right now! I didn't want real life to get involved in my AJC really, but I suppose this message is appropriate in regard to my creative journey as well...I will be what I will be :)

I put the eyes at the top watching me secretly (which is what this person has been doing!!) and my camel is standing right behind me, supporting me, reassuring me, so he has a warm orangy glow - comforting and shining out against the darkness of this person's actions (she's hiding behind anonymity). He also has a star behind him to show he's valued by me! The splat I placed deliberately to look as though it could be grungy angel wings!! I'm no angel, shown by the raggy nature of the wings, LOL, but what I am saying is worth saying and has value, and next to this cowardly person, I do look positively angelic, LOL!!! OMW! Lots going on in my head today then, eh?!!!!!

The Sunday Creative + Hummie's World Course 2 class 24 - over and under

I liked this quote for the word prompt 'naked', so went with that! I used the brooding, dark, somewhat threatening raven in the shadows to represent the naked truth. It can sometimes be hard to hear such truths, and they can be intimidating. At the top, the ray of light to represent the hope mentioned in the quote. The photo was taken at Walmer Castle, and as always, the word prompt is done using an invisible text technique that Hummie taught me, so it doesn't jump off the page!!

Hummie's World - Couse 2, Class 13 - Inked Edges

I LOVE this technique, and don't do it enough! So I did quite a bit of it on here!! I extracted the main flower and layered it up to look like decoupage and loved the effect - it almost makes the whole photo look like a sketch/painting!

Funky Playground Designs' Challenges!

First up is Tuesday's challenge - to scrap a page using the Rule of Thirds. This page popped into my head straightaway!

Then today's Template challenge used this gorgeous template..I only added a couple of bits as it was so lovely!

CT LOs for SIS using Sultan of Soil by Secret Garden Creations

I had SUCH a great time playing with this kit!! Honestly, it has some grungy-ish elements in there that are perfect for using to create a clipping mask! That's what I did with the photo in the LO - think that was the element called 'dirt'. Then there's a water puddle, to which I clipped the brown paper in the kit and made some gentle grunge that you can see at the bottom of the page! Such fun!!

CT Los for SIS using Jubilant by Secret Garden Creations

Another wonderfully gorgeous kit from Secret Garden creations! Grab it HERE! The colours in this kit are so scrummy and just perfect for a whole range of LOs!! I used a couple of the photos I took at Hever Castle on Thursday. I couldn't believe how alike Meg and Evie looked in the bottom photo (they're cousins, not sisters!!). As you can see I wasn't brave enough to go out in the boat on the lake, but I did get some great photos instead!!
